1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. JuristVault uses only essential and functional cookies — no advertising or behavioral tracking cookies are placed on your device.

2. Authentication Cookies (Clerk)

Authentication and session management is powered by Clerk. Clerk sets secure, HTTP-only cookies to maintain your login session and protect your account. These cookies are strictly necessary for platform access and cannot be disabled without logging out. They include session tokens, CSRF protection tokens, and device verification cookies. No personal data is readable by third parties from these cookies.

3. Preference Cookies

JuristVault sets a single preference cookie (jv-locale) to remember your language selection across visits. This cookie contains only a language code (e.g. 'fr', 'es', 'de') and no personal information. It is not shared with any third party and expires after 365 days.

4. No Advertising Cookies

JuristVault does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social media trackers, or any cookies that profile your browsing behavior across websites. We do not share cookie data with advertising networks, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes. Your browsing activity on JuristVault is never sold or used for ad targeting.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings (Settings > Privacy > Cookies). Disabling authentication cookies will require you to sign in on each visit. To opt out of non-essential cookies, click 'Decline' on the cookie banner — this will prevent preference cookies from being stored. Most modern browsers also offer built-in cookie controls and incognito/private browsing modes.
